I am a little slow to the game. Everyone around me has used ChatGPT and is living their best lives. But the other day, my coworker begged me to write a memo, and I said, “Why not use ChatGPT?”
She claimed she didn’t have a login or know how to use it, and I figured, how can it be so hard? It was my turn to see what everyone was talking about.
I went on to the ChatGPT website and entered the basic information. I copied and pasted what it spit out into an email and sent it to her without reading more than the first line.
Then she said she loved it, and so I pulled up the email to read what it said, which was not bad. She edited a bit for specifics, and it was good to go.
Another one of my coworkers came by, and I told him what we did. To show him an example of ChatGPT in action, I wrote, “Write two week notice for a job I love dearly.” This got me some laughs. Reading what the ChatGPT wrote got us a few more.
To spice things up, I sent the two-week notice to the printer and thought it would be funny for my friend, who was using the printer at the time to intercept it. Sure enough, another coworker received a text saying someone was on the edge and had sent their two-week notice to the printer. I came clean immediately and I was just trying to stir up some office drama.
But then I used the modify function and added more to my original request. The results had me in tears. Read them all below.
