Whose house…? TREEHOUSE!

I am coming up on my one year anniversary of being on Treehouse. For those not familiar with Treehouse, they have a series of videos to teach you how to work online. From coding HTML, CSS, PHP, and java to creating iPhone and Android apps to starting and marketing a business and even what all the tools and their hotkeys are in Adobe Illustrator they have it covered.

Originally, my coworker, Nathan told me how cool it was. Though it sounded cool I figured I could learn anything I needed (for free) by Googling it. Plus Nathan had recommended Hamlet 2 and Repo! The Genetic Opera as fine films* so I took his opinion with a grain of salt.

A few months later, however, I noticed they had an upcoming series on how to code responsive emails and convinced my work to buy me an account. We had an education budget that I never thought any of us would tap into so I took full advantage.

I have learned an incredible amount from this site and am very thankful for such great content. Initially, I saw myself learning what I needed to and not paying for another year subscription but now I can’t see myself without it.

My current stats are 9,576 Points and 144 badges. Ranked 754 out of 92065 students for total badges earned.

If you ever wanted to learn how to code and don’t know where to start, this is by far the best way I have found to learn. If $250 is a little to rich for your blood, there are free sites like CodeAcademy. But I think Treehouse is money well spent.

BONUS my son loves these videos:

*I have yet to see either of those films and respect Nathan recommended and his opinions mean a great deal to me.

I'm pretty good at Microsoft Excel but a freak in Google Sheets.
