Oh, Me Lucky Charms, II

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how lucky I am to have not been too affected by these winter storms we had. In the end, I broke down what I thought of as the 3 parts of luck (being fortunate, being prepared, and having a positive attitude).

But I wasn’t lucky. That weekend I upgraded my webserver and was moved to a new IP address and blogged to a cached version of this website on the old server. So though I posted that Wednesday, the universe decreed the secrets of luck would be denied to the common man, and that post would be trashed with the old server.

But I am super lucky. I made this sweet featured image that works very well today, on a Saint Patrick Day’s blog post.

Really when you think about it, just being alive you are better off than all of the people that aren’t. And if you are healthy, even better, you are enjoying what is denied to everyone that is sick. Employed or some cash flow? Way better than not having money come your way.

I know that was a total rip off of Buddha but that dude was on to something.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”

Buddha

Basically, we should be thankful for what we have and maybe sometimes for the things we don’t have (I’m looking at you gonorrhea).

All joking aside things could always be much worse. And there is no problem so great that it can’t be made worse by you having a crappy attitude about it.

Focus instead on the good things in your life and watch and see if your life doesn’t seem better. Your perception is your reality after all.

In other news, I have my first subscriber to my blog’s newsletter so today will be my first newsletter. I’m thinking it will contain additional content that does not appear on the blog. Something to encourage signups.

Subscribe and if you don’t like unsubscribe or email and tell me you want off and I promise not to email you anything else.
