Last weekend I took what my wife refers to as a “sabbatical”. For us, it’s just a time of being alone and relaxing away from the house.
Sting Operation
Have you ever been somewhere with a crowd you know you shouldn’t be around and later it bites you in the butt?
This happened to me recently.
Last Friday I was mowing my yard, minding my own business. I noticed some wasps near the curb. Usually, they fly out of the way. This time they were out for revenge.
One for my Pommes…
Have I written about cider yet?
I just did a search on my blog and it only showed up only once. So begins the tale of my relationship with cider.
My Promised Land
Costa Rica. The Rich Coast.
From wince, I was a wee child I have loved this wonderful country. My passport had been stamped many times before I was ten years old traveling back and forth.
I stayed in Costa Rica during the summer I turned 11 and cherish those memories to this day. When I was older my friends and I would take trips there to revel in nature and relax in paradise.
So in my last post about “How to Be a Decent Human Being” many of you thought I didn’t go far enough. Sure I covered things like don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t lie but I received some comments about how I really just ripped off the Ten Commandments.
So here are some additional steps you can take today to be better than a decent human being.
A Love Note From Tinseltown
Lately, I have been hitting up the theater a bit more and there have been ad spots promoting short runs of classic films. When I saw one was The Big Lebowski I thought, “Wow I would like to see that again.”
Whose house…? TREEHOUSE!
I am coming up on my one year anniversary of being on Treehouse. For those not familiar with Treehouse, they have a series of videos to teach you how to work online. From coding HTML, CSS, PHP, and java to creating iPhone and Android apps to starting and marketing a business and even what all the tools and their hotkeys are in Adobe Illustrator they have it covered.
My heart is as warm as freshly baked bread!
Today I checked the mail and, to my surprise, received a letter from my fellow accountabiliblogger, Hugh Murphy. The topic of the message was that he missed a blog post and enclosed was a gift certificate for Central Market!
It was an extremely nice surprise but what I wanted to blog about was the benefits of being a person of honor and integrity.
Even an eagle needs a push.
I consider myself a pretty productive guy. Most of the people I have worked with might tell you I am pretty motivating.
However, I am sure all of us at some point in our relish in excuses for not pushing ourselves further.
Another Wife Lesson: Worrying
My lovely wife told me another mind-blowing, life-changing piece of advice this last week.
Many times I concern myself with how future negative events might unfold. You might also know this as worrying.
