My sister-in-law and her kids visited Disney World a few years ago with my son and me. My son had never been, so it was a real treat for me to take him. We rode the Millenium Falcon and saw the Star Wars area that had been set up, which was terrific. Storm Troopers interacted with the park guests, and we even drank blue milk. I was super pumped to find Admiral Ackbar memorabilia!
Ok, so this one wraps up the sentimental quilt trilogy. The last quilt I will tell you about was given to me when I was eight or so. Made by Nan, the same grandma that made the first quilt I wrote about.
When I was around nine, I remember being sad my mom was working in the afternoons, and one day she went and bought a new Pontiac Grand Prix. She was so excited. I couldn’t share her feelings. Even at such a young age, there was this thought, “Is this what she is working so hard for? Trading her time that could be spent with my brother and me? For a flashy car?”
